When I first saw this show on Netflix I thought"Wow a anime with a naked half wolf half human demon girl how original....." now I think this show is great it's right up there with DBZ FMA The boondocks ,and naruto abriged on my list . I will be more disappointed if this show Dosent get a third season then the ending to drawn together.

Hmm, I don't know if I would consider The Boondocks to be an "anime". Even though it uses parts of the anime style, it's not Japanese at all, it's 100% American, which would just make it a "cartoon" of the comedy genre (like Family Guy).

I think boondocks is one of those shows that is technically both anime in style American in origin.

You have put some serious though into that, except reverse where I was finding reasons why they wouldn't. I hope there is a season 3, but not to far in the future.

I'm reading the volume 1 novel and it is going in identical order to episodes, only with more depth into the story, especially on the individual thoughts of Holo and Lawrence.

So Season 3, if they make one, will most likely take place in Volumes 5 and 6 of the novel.

Edit: What I mean in exact order is that, 6 episodes of the anime covers about 1 volume of the novel (the novel is the original story, it came before the anime and manga).

Season 1 - Episodes 1-6 = Volume 1
Season 1 - Episodes 7-12 = Volume 2
Season 2 - Episodes 1-6 = Volume 3
Season 2 - Episodes 7-12 = Volume 4

So if that pattern is followed for a Season 3, well, I'm sure you got the picture. smile

----------

To slightly correct your statement, Season 2 is actually volumes 3 and 5, so if you wanna get your spice and wolf fix satiated I can actually direct you / give you a copy of the unofficial version of volume 4.

That all being said, if the anime continues will they just leave volume 4 out, or will they go back.. who knows. I sure do hope they continue to make the anime, but only time will tell. Volume 4 actually contains some wolf action, unlike in 3 and 5 tongue.

And now that I think about it, Volume 3 english book was just released like last month right?? that means that we wont even have volume 6 until december of next year... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh thats sucky haha.

Re: Hopes of a Season 3

it actually has a small to probably, even 50 - 50 chance of having a S3... its rare for animes with this background of story to even proceed to a S2. S2 was a total off from the aspect of S1, S1 was mostly about money handling. and situations involving money. but S2 was not much like that... well besides S2. its even more rare for a S3. and to FUNimation (which is the TV producer of S&W) its VERY rare for them to give a S3 of ANY of there animes. or at-least proceed past the range of 28 EPs MAX. and the animes they DO go forward with, make more then a 3rd Season. like One Piece and that anime is the ONLY anime that has ever reached a record breaking 500+ EPs. they can be using that money to put into other animes. they could have spent AT-LEAS 10million in US $ on that anime by now, AT-LEAST!

even if the main creators of S&W wanted the S3. it still has to go through a 3rd party which is FUNimation to produce it. and no 1 wants a different producer. a different producer will make the look of the character and background look of the anime look WAY different then they where.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
a different producer usually means that the anime will have to switch shows due to copyright law, a copyright titles can not be used by 2 producers unless its name is sold off. but FUNimation will not do that, they still have DVDs and BR that they are selling and gaining prophet off. and if they do cough up the money or do something to that will allow the new producer to make a S3 with the normal S&W title then it still needs to go through FUNimation for dubbing and FUNi still will have S&W's title.

so youd be on the last EP of S2 then click next. then the story will take off in some different look of an anime. Holo would look weird and not as she did of S1 and 2. (by actual LOOK, like her figure). and yes this has happen before. like Hellsing, Princess resurrection, and if any 1 knows about Kiss x Sis, KxS had a series going at first.

-jeez. i go to bed in 3 hours for night school, dont we all just love blogging =^_^=-

Re: Hopes of a Season 3

The thing about that is, Funimation doesn't make anime, they have no artists or animators, only voice actors. They are just a licensing group that dubs episodes and sells them in North America, Funimation is based out of Dallas/Fort Worth (I think) in Texas.

All animes are made in Japan, and 90% of animes are based off something else, manga, novels, games.

Either way, Spice and Wolf follows the novel, to a T basically, having to cut out some things for times sake but for the most part (as I am reading the novels now) from the dialogue to most other things it is identical. The anime was basically to promote the novel by Isuna Hasekura. It will probably not get a season 3, if you want to continue the story, you will have to read the books.

The thing that bugs me most is when people say "Funimation make another season of X!" Funimation can't do that, they have no animation team to do, and do not plan on having one as far as I know, having an animation team in the U.S. is pretty much a waste of money, Japan has a much bigger anime following and air it on TV all the time, U.S. however only has a small following and has a much bigger chance of being pirated.

Re: Hopes of a Season 3

grhh~ i forgot FUNi was a dubber. and it was Imagin Studios that made it into an anime i think. but any way it still has to go through several share holders, that supports my copyright part. but its STILL probably only getting just the 2 seasons. no S3. i haven't seen any S3 animes. (that FUNi has on there sight) so if there is a S3 then the dubber will have to switch. . . right? and what other dubber dose north America? grh~ please say differently, i cornered myself and now i feel bad that theres no hope for S3..

Re: Hopes of a Season 3

Quite a few actually, I believe Sony dubbed Blood+ for North America, Sentai Filmworks also licenses for North America, they did Clannad.

So far, as it is pretty obvious, Funimation is the most successful and also the most generous (showing free episodes through hulu and youtube). That's usually why I tend to check what FUNi is doing before anything else.

But yeah, not many anime make it past 2 seasons, but a lot of them aren't intended to go past 2 seasons, only a few animes have extremely long series, like Dragonball Z and One Piece, which I don't bother with, I'm not 12 years old anymore and overly drawn out plots annoy me for the most part, I go for story now, more than anything.

It would get a S3, mainly because, if it isn't demanded in Japan, then it just won't happen, not to mention I believe a lot of animes are just being pushed back, a lot of the earthquake/tsunami area is still having a hard time recovering.

But yep, Season 2 is probably the end of it, only to promote people to buy the Manga and Novel to finish the story. I also bought the Japanese version of Spice and Wolf Vol. 1 (Novel). Hopefully sometime I can actually read it in it's original state and compare it to the translated English version.

Re: Hopes of a Season 3

hay can you look into Claymore for me, after 2 seasons it just stopped. and idk when it was made. idk if it stopped or was finished. can you see how many volumes there are? pleeez. idk were to go... it seams that it should have more to it. like spice and wolf. but unlike spice and wolf, Claymore has no target story line after the plot was achieved, i still would like to no what the main characters are doing to survive there new threat in Claymore. but with S&W theres still LOTS that left to reveal.
