Re: Question about anime

If there is anime that you want to see un the UK but cant get on Region 2 I would suggest ordering a Region 1 player and then ordering Region 1 anime online. I know I can get Region 2 DVD's online and have them shipped to the US so I dont see what you shouldnt be able to get Region 1 DVD's shipped there.

Re: Question about anime

Wrong section btw, in no way does this have anything to do with "Site information and news".

I suppose this question is directed at Funimation, in which case, anime is already licensed for release there. I believe Manga Entertainment does most of it.

Re: Question about anime

Not all anime is released in the UK for many reasons, the largest of which being the size of the market, which is simply not big enough to support some releases since they would no sell enough copies to break even. A good example would be Red Garden, which reportedly sold in the low double figures here - the costs of licensing, rating, authoring simply cannot be recouped, plus you can't print a run of 20 DVDs - IIRC you have to make 500 as a bare minimum (3000 for BDs).

Sometimes the license itself is just too expensive (e.g. Dragonball and One Piece) or not available for some reason (e.g. Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid, last I heard at any rate)

This is indeed the wrong place so I will be locking it.

We've had some previous topics on this subject, e.g.
