Greetings, My spouse and I own a pair of Kindle Fire HD's. However we notice that Amazon has no APPs for watching the Funimation website and shows. Since we are a paid subscriber it would be nice to have the APP to use on the go when we don't have our notebook with us. Thanks!

Just for expedience I'll paste what I posted on this topic in another thread that was in the tech support section regarding this question.
The difference here from what I understand is that Funimation contracts a company to create a separate app that uses a player that is compatible with that particular platform (iPad, Roku, etc,,,) So it is going to be a matter of them having an app made for each particular platform that requires different programming. The main answer boils down to, if those products (like a Kindle Fire HD) attain the amount of market share where Funimation deems the investment of an app to be an action that could have a worthwhile ROI it is something they might pursue. You have to keep in mind, Funimation is a physical media company that does dubs first and foremost, so the amount of capital that they have to sink into new IT initiatives such as these is not nearly what a company like Crunchyroll whose main business model is streaming has. So unless they can see a huge potential for doing it I don't think it will happen. So in this case Android is at least pretty likely to eventually happen, but Kindle Fire is pretty much a long shot unless another app can also serve a dual purpose and work for it. (Although I'm not to familiar with the Kindle Fire, but it uses a proprietary OS right? Not something like a flavor of Android?)

It's an Android dialect, at least.

Interesting. Maybe the chances are better than I supposed, that is if it is possible for an Android app to be modified to work on the Fire's customized Android OS.

Thanks for the response. I received an e-mail about Funimation Apps for both Ipod & Android. However, when you are redirected to the Google Shop and click for Android. It tells me that it will not work on my system. So much for that. Still looking, but I figure that both Amazon or Funimation will have an App for the Kindle Fire HD due to it's brisk sales. It does have an excellent HD and Funimation shows in both picture quality and sound are very excellent through "Netflix". So I will keep a watch for it. Thanks!

I too would love to have the app made available for the Fire.
**update**
I found a way to easily get the Funimation app onto the kindle fire that does not require root access or have to do a lot of work.
I will gladly send the details to anyone who wants it. I would post them up but I am new and don't know how strict the mods are on this sort of thing.
It isn't a hack just a way to side load the application onto the Fire due to it not having access to the Google play store unless it has been rooted rooted. Even then the application is listed as not compatible but it works perfectly.
12/05/2012 Hello,
Here is a current update on the "Funimation App" by Phunware for the Kindle Fire HD. I contacted Amazon, and they would welcome the seller of such an App with "Open Arms". Then I contacted the maker of the App Phunware, and received the following very positive reply: "We are in the process of finalizing a release to the Amazon Store. Still working on a few bugs but hope to be live before end of the year." I for one are looking forward for this to happen. Since this means I can go ahead and purchase another Kindle Fire HD instead of a Google Nexus 7. Since Kindle Fire HD 7 does have the Better, Brighter, and Dolby Pro-Logic Sound I can fully enjoy my paid subscription without having to cart my Laptop around. Thanks to everyone involved Phunware, Funimation, and Amazon for making this happen

Promising news.
As general background - the Kindle Fire is locked into an Amazon app store since, unlike the iPad for example, it is basically a platform for Amazon to sell product (ebooks, apps etc.)
