Now as to the buiding relationship. I feel that eyah maybe they could have shown more to buld up their relation but once you go back and watch it, they actually throw alot out there to suggest they both had been thinking of each other in a simular manner. And these last few events showed it all come fruitition. Yes yes more could have been shown but persoanlly I feel it would have taken form the show to do more bukd up with it. Unless thery were to have planned for say a 50 ep series.
As far as invinciable. Well yeah he's the "hero" of the story per-say. So no kidding they are not gunna just randomly kill him off. I mean this isn't DBZ where they go to some spirit check point to gane a chance to get stronger and come back stronget than ever, or be magicly brough back to life somehow, so yeah he isn't gunna die. But they can show how he isn't "invinciable" but placing him in these near death situatuation. Now I was never saying they showed him as "inviciable" but c'mon, I've seen enough to know that unless they had planned to have diffrent leads in the sereis they were not gunna kill him to show that he is "inviciable".
Just because 2 stories are written by the same guy Doesn't mean they are linked! To be honest it just seems like the guy had a good ideal to write about so he used a bit of it in both his stories! Thats actually what most writers do! The 2 shows arent actually linked at all they just both happen to use Virtual reality gear!!
Have you seen episode 22 (I think that's the one) of Accel World? The nerve gear from SAO was shown (a picture of it) called the nerve gear (same name) and was said to be the first fully immersive VR game controller (same as in SAO), and that the nuerolinker used in Accel World was the third generation of the nerve gear. If an author wrote 2 stories, about the same subject, using the exact same technologies as their basis, and then tried to pass them off as two totally different universes where the similarities were just chance I would find that extremely lazy world building. Also the author wrote SAO in 2002 (which uses the older tech of the two) and Accel World in 2009. There are just so many things that point to them being set in the same universe it's hard to deny.
*Edit- As far as the relationship part of it goes, apparently there is a lot that was left out in the anime vs the source material. I'm also thinking they will touch on it more in later episodes in flashbacks or where one of the characters is explaining to someone else why things have turned out the way they have between them.
Hmm I'll have to check out this Manga, I didn't even know it was that old. I do agree with the "using whatever resources you have" concept, but I'm still uncertain if what HeathCliff displayed was cheating or not. There are glitches in games all the time. Some players can exploit those glitches, giving them an unfair advantage over most of the other players. Some people consider it cheating, and other people see it as using whatever means necessary. Anyway, I won't pick a side in this debate, because you both have valid points.

Well to make this long story short and since I'm pissed off right now I'm just going to be blunt!!

So yes I looked at the wiki on SAO today to see how many more characters they need to introduce before its over. Because if there wasn't anymore maybe they were going to end it at 12/13 episodes and thats why they crammed so much into episode 10!(that would explain such a bad 10th episode!) And I found out that the characters for SAO have another storyline in the real world/possibly another virtual world! So they may end it and have the rest of the episodes be for their second season! Which would suck but whatever we aren't writing it!! And yes I stumbled on to Heathcliff's name and couldn't help but read a little of it until I learned who he was, then I kicked myself in the ass and stopped reading but the damage was done and I think in the long run thats going to make the series alot worse then it could have been!!! But At least I know why Kirito lost, It's still wrong and again I think it hurts the story but whatever I guess. SAO will just stay in my top 10, and not make it to the top 5! I just hope it ends really well and focused on the Beginning story line!!! With a hard fought boss battle and the 2 lovers ending the season triumpant heroes!!! But we'll see!!

However, with the assassination attempt, it's not your everyday occurence so the magnitude of that situation probably just caused their inner defenses to drop and allow their feelings to reveal themselves.

Thgank you for emphasizing the point I was making. Each of the encounter we seen al add up. And since it is also shown throught the time skips that we don't see everything that happens there was propbly othe rsmall things to build this up. Thats been my point on the matter here.

Now granted I'm not all that familiar with Author's names and who created what but if you look at al the series any one author wrote/created. You will see SIMULARITIES in alot of thier works. Be it character desings, plots, locations or in this case devices. Its a world of fiction created by 1 person. Its not completely impossible that some ideas have crossed from 1 work to another.

Also, it's a two cour show (25 episodes) so I think there is still a lot for us to learn about the dynamics between the characters.
They only have 10 eps out right now Batou. Fan subed or not. ep 11 comes out this saturday I beleive. Maybe sunday I'd have to look at CRs scheduel again.
