Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

My hearts still racing...loved this ep...i knew from the moment kirito entered into battle that the Sylphs were going to show...and yeah they did with their really cool dragons...never expected Recon to become a hero for kirito...the makeup of kirito and leafa was bittersweet and i think done quite tastefully....espec with the little time to do it in, it couldnt of been more perfect (IMO)...Now the moments of conquest when kirito and asuna will meet, cant wait...although it wont be so easy...they have a task to do to release the 300 players from Oberon's experiments room.

Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

Things wrapped up nicely, if fast, this episode. I was left satisfied and wanting more! With two episodes left I'm beginning to see a possible ending form. I hope it will end without any sudden reversals. My desire for a second season depends heavily on the ending of this one!

I really don't know what to say. Good ep is all I suppose. Not really feeling like talking right now. Who didn't see the Sylphs and Cait Sith coming to the rescue? I agree with not seeing the door being locked coming but I doubt that Oberon doesn't have more defenses remaining. He may be a complete perv and pr*** but (this makes my stomach turn to say evn if it's true) he's not a complete idiot. He doesn't seem to think every single thing through though and no matter how trivial or difficult that may be, it's best to at least try to do. Doubtful that there will be much considering the short time left but we'll see.

Yeah Oberion may be manyy horrible things but a complete idiot isn't one of them. While he may not have expeccted anyone to actually succed in getting past the gurads. I I dout he'd be foolish enough to just leave the door and the areas to follow nprotected on the "just in case" scenario. The ending will probly be a rushed on. Suck since rush endings are the worst. but maybe they'll mange to pace it right and make it feel longer than just the 2 eps and not have the rush feeling on it.

Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

But the only reason Kirito was even able to get past the door was because Asuna managed to steal the admin card and drop it down to him. No other players would have that opportunity. Granted, Asuna managing to "escape" once might've made him more wary, but there's no point in creating much of a defense system when it's impossible for the players to get to it. The fact that there's only 2 eps left also makes me suspicious, but I guess he might have added at least some obstacles to buy time for him to intervene if necessary.

Really hope they don't rush the ending. I want a nice resolution with Asuna punching Oberon in the face (outside of the game would be preferable) for everything he's done to her and the other players.

Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

I guess the only problem I conceivably see with whats going on is that they are technically in a game where all of his adversaries from this point on would presumably be people with Sysop, Superuser, or network administrator privileges right? Because from the way I understand it, the part that he just teleported into (which is the same place Asuna went into from the tree branches when it became all white halls) is/are the server(s) that Oberon subverted to perform his experiments in. So anyone other than him there will be people such as the researchers and Oberon himself, and they would most likely have an ascending set of access credentials up to what Oberon has, all of which would be higher than what Kirito has. Regardless of whether or not he has an access card that gives him admin privileges at terminals, it still is not the same thing as the user themselves having those credentials within the game. So I'm just thinking that as soon as anyone would see him they would think "hey you aren't supposed to be in here" and he would be forcibly logged out of the game immediately. I mean at least just as others have mentioned Oberon would put in additional controls over the server as security other than a basic admin access account. What kind of idiot would create a system like this where he is doing all of this crazy stuff with the testing on the 300 trapped SAO users and then allow multiple users to all have full superuser access to it where they could monkey around with his experiments and the whole basis of his "master plan" or however he might think of it? So, am I just reading into this too much? I am still enjoying it overall and hope that they animate the next arc. From the apparent sales of the discs in Japan, and also the fact that the 10 first light novels of SAO (I think the 11th released in Japan today) have a combined over 7 million copies in print now, it seems to have plenty of sales to justify more.

Over anyloizing?? hmm maybe. Then again maybe not. More like just pointing out the things some might not have really thought about. and yeah form what I seen of thoes sales it would be reasonable to think more could be animated. Just hope they actually do it. I'm not realy a novel reader so i would like to see how this ends myself.

Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

In response to batou01:

I foresee a little deus-ex-machina occurring in the last couple episodes when Kirito is pitted against the administrators. There's precedent for it from his time in SAO:

Spoiler: Highlight to view
When he was "killed' by Heathcliff and came back from the dead to strike a final blow, perhaps that will be used as an excuse for him to bend/break the rules in ALO, too.

I wouldn't care if that's the case, since there's so little time left in the series it almost has to happen to wrap up the loose ends neatly, I think.

Edit: And here's another reason to believe what I supposed if you want a better plot-driven excuse:

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Perhaps the old NERVEgear helmet he has will have something to do with why he could break the rules due to a quirk in it's programming/hardware. The new NERVEgear headsets may have been manufactured to correct this "flaw". It's just a good excuse to make use of the fact he's still using his original helmet.

It's all a guess/conspiracy theory, though!

@batou

That's true. Kirito essentially would have to get to Asuna, free her, and help her log out all without getting spotted. Once he's been noticed it's very believable that he would be forcibly logged out and possibly be banned from the game. On top of that, it's true that his card might not grant him enough access to even GET to Asuna.

@Dragon

I'm pretty sure we'll get another season (it's just a matter of when). The franchise is selling well and it's pretty popular. It's easy money. Or a movie would be cool too.

Re: SAO-Sword Art Online Discussion thread.

I'm pretty sure of it myself. But I dont' want to say is a sure thing. May good series have gone with no more season while some that don't seem as good get more. But SAO does seem like one of them that will get more. So lets just remain hopefull.
