Yeah the story seems to be coming into another good side plot, Possibly preparing for the end now.
I'd love to see Kirito and Asuna and a very few select friends face off against the laughing coffins!! Then go on to more adventure's as a very small Elite guild!!
I really hope the next episode with Kirito fighting Healthcliff is epic! Obviously Healthcliff will have a unique skill too and I really hope it makes for a great fight with both almost dying but niether does, and ends with Kirito winning! Hell maybe even Heathcliff could join Asuna with Kirito! It's not like hes a bad guy(possibly will be later who knows). He's just making sure Kirito isn't going to waste Asuna's skills, Which is totally understandable!! They all want out of the game!!
And that leads to the upcoming fight. I think the leader of the Blood kights was to see if he can't figure out how he got that skill. Provding of cource he doesn't have it too or some other ability nobody else has. And he just want to test their secret skills agianst each other. But its definetly obvious he's been wanting Kirito to join for a long time and is using this even and the fact Asuna wants to party with Kirito as an excess to get him in the guild. However you look at it I'm hopeing its gunna be a good fight that isn't over in the first few mins of the ep. At least take half the eps to shocase their skills for a bit.
I'm wondering if he earned the dual-blades skill because he only used one hand for so long. He said it just appeared randomly in his skill choices. Ever since he first started playing, he only fought with a one-handed sword. Maybe there are other hidden skills that only become available after you meet prerequisites. Also, if the fight is over quickly, then that would have been a waste of the build-up and cliffhanger. Their conversation hints at a really good, tough fight so it may be foreshadowing. If not, then it would seem pointless to me to have bothered with the suspense.

Asuna seems happy to stay in the game, what with her leaving the front lines to play house.
Asuna got mad at Kirito when she found him sleeping underneath a tree and implied that he was being lazy while everyone else was busy fighting and trying to locate the boss room. And she mentioned to him that she didn't want to remain in the game because she had a lot of things she still wanted to do and never got the chance for. Also, I don't remember which of them brought it up, but they talked about how after spending 2 years in the game, people had gotten accustomed to it. Plus, fewer than 500 players are even still trying to clear the game to get out so they need to take time off from it now and again.

Well when I went back to re-watch the eps out I checke dthe timing of things. From what I can gather I think and don't quote me but I think he got the skill somewhere around the time he got that "deamon balde" in ep 7. The one they use in th op that he showed Liz ths smith. Or sometime after he got that sword. But he definetly had it befor ehe aksed for the sword that Liz forged for him. I think when he got that skill he wanted another sword of equal strengh to perform the skill effectivly. Again this is jsut a guess.
It may be a guess but it's backed up by good evidence. Liz even mentioned that it was one of the rarest swords in the game because it was enchanted. And there wouldn't have been any reason for him to want "a sword as strong or better"(Kirito's words exactly I believe) if he didn't already have that skill. Using a powerhouse weapon with something you could probably buy on floor 1 would just get you killed.
EDIT: When Asuna and Kleine asked him about it, he told them it appeared 6 months ago so you could cross reference the date of that episode with the one where he asked Liz to forge him another to narrow down the actual time he learned it.

I'm wondering if, even though Klein called it a "unique skill", if maybe Asuna can have it too, or at least help him to improve it! Since while he was using his "star burst stream", or as his appraiser called it while reading the paper, "50 slash combo" attack he was saying "faster", "even faster", And since Asuna is the fastest swordsman in the game hence your nickname The Lighting Flash, she is best suited to help him with it. But that's probably getting too much into details. Thats the worst thing short anime they dont have enough time to really get into details of a story ! I'll just keep hoping for more and more episodes !
Btw Asuna is a pimp in her own right for sure! I love her fast moves and agility. Like in the boss fight where she dogdes his sword attack with a spin in mid air! Sure he had to take his punch but thats alot better then the sword and she took the punch like a champ, you could tell even if Kirito didnt jump in to help she was about to dogde his next attack too! Asuna and Kirito really make a great pair! They both hate to see people die and want to help everyone even strangers at the risk of their own lives even!
And best line of the show so far "My HP might hit zero if you hug me too hard", lol Loved it!

That what I did. Based on the time roughly. He would have had that skill for about a month or 2 *roughly* before asking for another sword. My guess is that he most likely trained a while and realized he need 2 swords of equal stats to get the max use of it.
Speed is an interesting though Reaper. Remember both the swords are heavy swords. Kirito mad ethat commetn after the forging. He wanted them like that. Most likely to give him an advantage in a fight to be as fast as someone using a lighet wight sword like the Reiper type sowrd Asuna has. Again just a guess on my part.
It could have been like forlorn said too. Maybe since he used a One hander sword so much he maxed out the ability of it and unknow to him he aquiered the sill. Or like I said maybe it was an ability he got when he quiered that black sword. Right now we have no way to know for sure. Which is fine to me. Only a little bit more time till we get to see the big fight. Really looking forward to it, hoe they don't blow through it to quick. And they better keep Kirito as a solo se he better win.

I don't think that they would have had Kirito go solo for so long just to have him suddenly be forced to join somebody else. Asuna is the exception. She's BA and you know she would have beat him to a pulp if he hadn't joined her party. Lol
EDIT: @Reapersbeast: The fact that he was saying "Faster. Faster." just shows even more that Kirito, while awesome, isnt infallible. He himself knows he still can/needs to improve. Some people see him as being one of those characters who, "can't fail" but that whole fight just adds to the fact that, yes he can! He's powerful but not invincible. He's skilled, but can still do better. The whole episode just made the series even better through mutliple aspects. And it's not done yet.

Well I'm pretty sure they won't have him join but you never know. Sometimes they like to pull stupid moves on the fans.

Could agree more. Yeah he's the "hero" of the show. So of course he
s gunna pull through. But at least they don't have him with the attitude that he thinks he'll always win. He know there wil lbe time he can't. And just like with th ebattle against the Gleam Eyes, he didn't want to fight it cause it could and nearly did kill him.
Oh yeah about this >>

While funny I can't say it once of the funniest lines ever. Scene whise it pretty good considering the set up.

Well she even said she wanted out. Besides. Everyone nedd to take a break every now and then.
I reject your reality and replace it with my own.
